About Us

Bread of Life has been attending to the welfare of children and families in the greater Wichita area since 1991, and became a 501c3 charitable agency in 2006.

With the help of 30 to 40 volunteers each week, we provide food, clothing and ministry to more than 58,000 people each year, and the number continues to increase.  We serve all ages, from various races and cultures, and coming from Sedgwick County and eight other Kansas counties.

While we provide for the physical needs of the families and individuals, our heart is to minister to the whole person, offering prayer and encouragement.  We have seen many miracles take place: clients receiving physical and emotional healing, restoration of relationships, and new jobs or job promotions.

Bread of Life is also a training center offering both on- and off-site training for service organizations across America wishing to replicate our effective method of operation.

Through the years, we have developed positive working relationships with such organizations as:

The Kansas Food Bank

The Salvation Army

The Union Rescue Mission

United Methodist Urban Ministries

The Wichita Children's Home

Social Rehabilitation Services (SRS) and

Local judicial and school community service programs

Local Interdenominational Churches

Our share goal is to work together to bring life and hope to the greater Wichita area.
